Na cafeteria da Waterstones de Deansgate (gl – en)

A través dos ferros do andamio
o cartel da House of Fraser
no peitoril da ventá un fino fío de aceiro
torna as pombas e as suas consecuencias

cae unha chuvia maina
a auga vén para borrar
as marcas que do verán
quedaran na miña pel

pasei toda a semana
coa boca chea de terra
por iso o pastel de mango
estourando de piña e coco relado
lévame agora de volta á aldea

consigo evitar as bágoas
neste microespazo de felicidade
un cacho de paraíso, lonxe,
do estómago pasa ao peito
onde se expande sen límite

contaríache, amiga, a densidade
o espesor desta vida fóra

Síntome pleno
mentres o cacho de cake
bocado a bocado
varre os restos da terra
que mantivo a boca mesta
nesta semana que acaba

At the Waterstones Café on Deansgate

Through the scaffolding’s iron bars
the House of Fraser sign
on the windowsill, a fine steel wire
keeps the pigeons
and their consequences at bay

a gentle rain falls
the water comes to erase
the marks summer
left on my skin

I have spent the whole week
with my mouth full of earth
that is why the mango cake
bursting with pineapple and grated coconut
now takes me back to the village

I manage to hold back the tears
in this tiny space of happiness
a piece of paradise, far away,
passes from the stomach to the chest
where it expands without limit

I would tell you, my friend,
about the density,
the thickness of this life abroad

I feel full
as piece by piece the chunk of cake
sweeps away the remnants of earth
that kept my mouth heavy
through this week that is now ending
