De volta ao hotel 
na porta dum laboratório médico 
como um flash pasou-me a ideia 
de levar analisar esta tristeza
por saber o número exacto de pílulas 
diárias que lograr-a-iam amansar

No dia seguinte
pequeno almoço com galão, caracóis e torrada
chuvisca sobre a calçada branca 
infinitamente fraturada 
a ausência de sol parece ter apagado o ânimo
da gente que caminha para o trabalho
levando nos rostos baixos
o peso do outono recém-nascido

Back to the hotel
at the door of a medical laboratory
like a flash, the idea came to me 
to analyze this sadness
for knowing the exact number of daily 
pills that would manage to tame

The next day
breakfast with coffee, patisserie and toast
drizzle on the infinitely fractured white pavement
the absence of sun seems to have dampened 
the spirits of people walking to work
carrying the weight of the newborn autumn 
on their lowered faces
