Hienas e números

a outra noite, ás tres da mañá
sentín os afiados colmillos das hienas
a esgazar os dous metros cadrados
da pel seca que me envolve

notei os trinta e catro dentes
de cada unha das hienas da manda
chantándose na carne durmida
de súpeto despertan as dores

intuín as fortes moas esnaquizadoras
e para combater o medo dos ósos
armeilles un curral de palabras
transmutado en pastor de carnívoros

escribín os sete nomes de cada unha
familiariceime coas suas dentaduras
cuantifiquei os meus ferimentos
antes de botarme no corpo a corpo

devagar levantouse un airiño lene
afastándome do fedor do rabaño
foi á fin vencido o insomnio

Hyenas and numbers

the other night, at three in the morning
I felt the sharp fangs of the hyenas
tearing the two square meters
of the dry skin that envelops me

I noticed the thirty-four teeth
of each of the hyenas in the pack
sinking in the sleeping flesh
suddenly the pain wakes up

I sensed the strong crushing molars
and to combat bones' fear
I built for them an enclosure of words
transmuted into shepherd of carnivores

I wrote the seven names of each one
familiarized myself with their dentition
and quantified my injuries
before jumping into the melee

slowly a soft breeze moved me away
from the stench of the herd
insomnia was finally overcome
